Learn the Electric Guitar the Right Way — Without the Frustration
Picking up the electric guitar feels exciting… until reality hits.
The amp exposes every mistake. Notes don’t sound clean. Techniques feel awkward. No matter how many videos you watch, it just doesn’t feel right.
If you’re coming from acoustic, it feels like a completely different instrument. If you’ve been learning on your own, you might be able to follow tabs and play songs but you don’t fully understand what you’re doing.
You start asking yourself questions like why certain chords work, how to make them sound better, or how to improvise instead of copying. But there’s no clear answer, and progress starts to feel inconsistent.
This is where most guitarists get stuck.
At Alternate Tone, we don’t believe in mindless repetition or “just copy and paste” learning.
We’ve worked with hundreds of students, from kids to working adults to seniors and we’ve seen the same patterns over and over again. Most people are not stuck because they lack talent. They are stuck because no one has clearly shown them what is going wrong, or how to fix it.
That’s why we built a structured electric guitar programme focused on solving real problems.
We break down your playing in detail. We identify exactly where things are falling apart, whether it is your technique, your tone, your timing, or your understanding and we fix it directly. No guessing. No random exercises. No wasted time repeating things that don’t actually improve your playing.
What Makes our lessons different?
A Structured Path Built Around You – We do not believe in a one size fits all approach.
Every student learns differently, progresses at a different pace, and has different goals. That is why every lesson is tailored to you, whether you are a complete beginner, transitioning from acoustic guitar to electric guitar, or trying to break past a plateau in your electric guitar playing.
At the same time, you are guided by a well structured and comprehensive syllabus that ensures steady progression from beginner to intermediate to advanced levels. You are not learning randomly. You are building real skill step by step, with clarity and direction.
What You’ll Learn in Our Electric Guitar Programme
Our lessons go beyond just playing songs. You’ll develop the skills to sound confident, expressive, and in control across different styles and musical situations.
Lead Guitar
Learn how to play melodic lines, expressive solos, and signature riffs with control and feel. From phrasing and articulation to tone shaping, you’ll develop the ability to make your playing stand out — not just play notes, but say something with them.
Rhythm Guitar
Understand how to lock in with the music and support a full band sound. You’ll learn how to control timing, dynamics, and groove, while using chords, textures, and rhythm patterns to make your playing feel tight and musical.
Soloing & Improvisation
Move beyond memorising solos. You’ll learn how to build your own solos and improvise naturally by understanding how scales, phrasing, and musical ideas connect. This is where you stop copying and start creating.
Fretboard Mastery & Scales
Instead of memorising isolated patterns, you’ll learn how scales connect across the fretboard. This builds finger control, coordination, and the ability to move freely between chords, riffs, and solos.
Music Theory (Made Practical)
No confusing jargon. You’ll learn theory in a way that directly improves your playing — understanding chords, progressions, and how music works so you can apply it immediately on the guitar.
Reading Tabs & Learning Songs Efficiently
Learn how to read tablature properly and, more importantly, how to use it effectively without becoming dependent on it. We teach you how to learn songs faster while still understanding what you’re playing.
Technique & Tone Control
Develop clean fretting, accurate picking, and proper technique so your playing sounds clear and controlled. You’ll also learn how to shape your tone so you don’t just play better — you sound better.
Explore Different Styles
You’ll be exposed to a range of styles including rock, blues, jazz, and metal — not just to play them, but to understand what makes each style unique and how to adapt your playing across genres.
